A Denver man was recently arrested on suspicion of DUI, vehicular homicide and other traffic violations after he was involved in a vehicle accident on October 10 that killed a man. CBS Denver reported that  the suspect was driving westbound down 13th Avenue when he ran a red light and broadsided another vehicle that was heading southbound on Washington Street. The suspect also hit a parked car.

The vehicle going southbound hit a concrete barrier before rolling over and hitting a business on East 13th Avenue. Fire personnel had to extricate the driver from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle was also seriously injured and transported to the hospital.

The suspect was later apprehended and arrested.

Vehicular homicide is a serious charge in Colorado. The suspect’s actions were careless, as evidenced by his decision to drive while under the influence. His careless actions caused the death of another man. Jail time is almost certain for this suspect. His Colorado criminal defense attorney might have been able to get his DUI and traffic charges reduced depending on his previous history, but there’s not much he will be able to do to convince a judge that his client shouldn’t do time in prison for a crime that led to the death of an innocent man.

If you face DUI charges of any nature, you will need representation by an experienced DUI defense attorney with a proven track record in these types of cases.
